Nicole Marchand, Registered Dietitian
I graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition. I chose to be a consulting dietitian in preventative medicine so I could use my knowledge to help others discover an optimal diet for their particular lifestyle and needs. I teach others how to prepare simple meals and snacks from whole foods which provide the body with the nutrients it needs to function at it’s best. Oftentimes, people living with ailments or fatigue need guidance in order to restore energy levels and health and I do believe that the answers can often be found through the diet.
Areas of Expertise:
Basic nutrition and food planning and preparation
Increasing energy levels
Chronic disease such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease
Athletes and dietary intake for active lifestyles
Lifestyle choices such as vegetarian and vegan diets
Gastrointestinal disorders such as IBD, IBS and GERD
My approach to dietetics is client-centered, meaning wellness goals and the nutritional interventions discussed to meet such goals are based solely on the client themselves and their needs and wants. Each client who sees me receives, at the very least, a small booklet of information reiterating the discussed dietary changes. Clients can also receive recipes, extra resources and meal plans if desired.
I am proud to say that I began my journey as a dietitian at Local Source Market in the North End of Halifax. I take clients at Local Source as well as The Floatation Centre in the North End and at the Barrington Goodlife Fitness location.
